His Truth Lifts Up

In this fifth message of our series Longing for the Savior: A Study in the Psalms, we reflect on Psalm 3, a prayer of David written while he fled from his son Absalom. Surrounded by fear, betrayal, and enemies who mocked his trust in God, David turned to the Lord as his shield, his glory, and the lifter of his head.

Psalm 3 reminds us that even in our darkest nights and most overwhelming battles, God’s truth sustains us. David was able to rest and rise again because the Lord was his protector. This psalm invites us to shift our perspective from despair to hope, resting not in our own strength but in God’s unfailing presence and deliverance.

This message challenges us to cling to God’s promises in seasons of pressure and pain, knowing that His truth will lift us up and give us courage to face another day.
