Experiencing Renewed Life in Jesus — Together

At Renewed Life Church, our mission is to love God, serve people, and make disciples of Jesus. We gather as a grace-filled, multi-generational community committed to walking in the ways of Jesus.

We exist to carry out Jesus’ Great Commandment and Great Commission—just like the Church always has.

We believe that Jesus set the mission for every Christian Church throughout history, when He commissioned His very first followers to *make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.* (Matthew 28:18-20)

In His time on earth, Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was—essentially He was asked to sum up all of God’s expectations in a single statement. His response would teach us the very essence of what it means to follow Jesus. According to Jesus, the greatest commandment is to love God and love those who are made in God’s image (Matthew 22:36-40). The scriptures teach us that our love for God and others is in response to the great love He has demonstrated for us (1 John 4:19, Roman 5:8).

Our goal as followers of Jesus is to become like Jesus.

The outworking of that is loving God and loving people.

Our mission is Jesus.

Our vision is Renewal.

Our chief value is Love.

Our Vision

Is to experience Renewed Life as Jesus renews our affections, giving us renewed purpose, fulfilled alongside renewed relationships.

Jesus gave every church the same mission: to make disciples. But each church carries out that mission with a unique vision shaped by its time and place. At Renewed Life, we’re aiming at three core targets:

Affection • Mission • Community

We are committed to studying the words of Jesus, walking in the ways of Jesus, and partnering in the mission of Jesus.

We must be disciples (apprentices) of Jesus who are determined to make more disciples. That is the single most important mandate Jesus gave the church.

All of us are being formed by the world, culture, and people around us. To be a disciple of Jesus, is to have our malformed lives re-formed into the image & likeness of Jesus.

We believe that we accomplish that goal by having our Affections reformed in our weekend gathering, by embracing the Mission that Jesus has entrusted to us, and by carrying out that mission together as a Community.

We define a disciple of Jesus as someone whose head, heart, & hands are changed by the gospel. That we grow in our understanding of the gospel (head). That we are confident in our identity in Christ (heart). And that we are active in lovingly serving others around us (hands).

We gather as a community of people to experience renewed life in Jesus.

We are a Non-Denominational, Jesus-Loving Bible Church.

The Bible teaches us two realities about every human being—we are made in the image of God and therefore have intrinsic value, and yet we are simultaneously broken and have a sinful nature that is in rebellion against God. Like a car that is out of alignment, we naturally pull towards destruction. Because of this, our goal is to gather on Sundays to encounter God together as we worship, pray, and open scripture so that the Holy Spirit would transform us into the people He desires us to be.

We believe that we are what we love, so our desire is not just that our minds are changed but that our hearts are transformed.

We gather to encounter God and to connect people to a renewed perspective about God, themselves, and the world around them.

We are an others-centered, generous church.

We believe that having a right perspective about God, ourselves, and the world around us - will lead us to jump headlong into the *mission of God* both locally and globally.

We believe that the success of our church is not based upon what is said, sung, or done in our Sunday gathering. Our success as a church is based upon what we *do* when we leave our gathering and engage with the world. Gathering on Sunday is not our end goal; we gather so we can be better equipped to effectively scatter into our surrounding community.

As a church, we are committed to setting aside a baseline of ten percent of our resources to support local mission & justice work, as well as those who are heralding Jesus’ message abroad.

We gather to learn to follow Jesus and to commit to carry out His mission together.

We are a multi-generational church of Home Groups, not merely a church with home groups.

The mission God has entrusted us with, is not meant to be done alone. He’s instructed that we fulfill it together. Mission and community go hand-in-hand.

When we turn from our sin and to Jesus, we are saved from our sin and saved into a family. Scripture calls this family the body of Christ. As a part of a body, each person has been entrusted with a gift & part to play in the continued work of God here on the earth.

Our Core Value of Community is realized through our Home Groups. Home Groups are not just an activity of our church, but a key aspect of how we believe Gods is re-forming our malformed lives. A home group is where someone can experience the gift of being known and loved in our church.

We gather to learn to follow Jesus and to commit to carry out His mission together.
