Who do you say that I am?

In Mark 8:22–28, Jesus first heals a blind man in two stages, gradually restoring his sight, and then turns to His disciples with a pivotal question: “Who do you say that I am?” Peter boldly responds, “You are the Christ.”

This passage reveals that spiritual understanding, like the blind man’s sight, often comes in stages. We may see Jesus dimly at first, but as He continues to work in us, our spiritual vision becomes clearer. Recognizing Jesus as the Christ is not just an intellectual answer — it is a confession that changes everything about how we live.

This message challenges us to reflect personally on who Jesus is to us. It’s not enough to know what others say about Him — we are each called to respond with our own declaration of faith and to live as disciples who follow the Christ we confess.
