Jesus in the Passover

As Jesus gathers with His disciples to celebrate the Passover, He reframes this ancient meal around Himself. The unleavened bread and the cup of wine—symbols of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt—become signs of a greater deliverance: His body broken and His blood poured out for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus identifies Himself as the true Passover Lamb whose sacrifice will seal a new covenant between God and His people. In the midst of betrayal and looming suffering, He offers His friends the hope of fellowship restored, sins forgiven, and the kingdom of God arriving in fullness. This Last Supper becomes the foundation of Christian worship and the anchor of our salvation story.
