Jesus & the Restoration of the World

As Jesus continues His discourse on the Mount of Olives, He lifts His disciples’ gaze beyond the destruction of the Jerusalem temple to the sweeping story of God’s restoration of the world. He describes cosmic disturbances, the darkening of the sun and moon, and the powers of heaven being shaken—not to incite fear, but to unveil the certainty of His return in power and glory. The Son of Man will gather His elect from the ends of the earth, and all creation will be renewed under His reign. Jesus assures His followers that though heaven and earth will pass away, His words will never pass away. The signs of the times are not meant to produce date-setting or speculation, but steadfast faith, readiness, and hope in the One who holds history in His hands.
