Jesus & My Graveyard

In Mark 5:1–20, Jesus steps onto the shores of the Gerasa region and is immediately met by a man living among the tombs — isolated, tormented, and considered beyond hope. While everyone else had given up on him, Jesus moves toward him with authority and compassion, commanding the unclean spirits to leave.

This dramatic encounter shows that Jesus is not afraid of the places we consider dead or too far gone. He brings freedom where there has been bondage, peace where there has been torment, and restoration where there has been ruin. The man who once lived in chains becomes a messenger of hope in his community.

This message reminds us that Jesus can transform our “graveyards” — the places of shame, addiction, or despair — into testimonies of His redeeming power.
