Jesus’ Authority over the Sea

In Mark 4:35–41, Jesus and His disciples set out across the Sea of Galilee when a violent storm suddenly strikes. The wind roars, the waves crash over the boat, and the disciples panic — while Jesus sleeps peacefully on a cushion. When they wake Him, He rebukes the wind and commands the sea to be still, and complete calm immediately follows.

This moment reveals both the humanity and the divinity of Jesus. He grows weary and sleeps, yet with a word He displays absolute authority over creation. This message calls us to trust Jesus in life’s storms — to remember that His presence is greater than our fear, and His power is greater than the chaos around us.
