Unity, the fragrance of the church
In this second message of our series Longing for the Savior: A Study in the Psalms, we look at Psalm 133, a short yet powerful psalm that celebrates the beauty of God’s people dwelling together in unity. The psalmist compares unity to the precious oil poured on Aaron’s head and to the refreshing dew of Hermon—images of blessing, abundance, and life.
Unity is more than simply getting along; it is a spiritual fragrance that flows from love, humility, and shared devotion to Christ. Where unity thrives, God’s presence and blessing are made known. In a divided world, this psalm reminds us that true community is both a gift from God and a witness to the world.
This message calls us to pursue unity in the church, not as something optional, but as central to God’s design for His people and essential for reflecting His glory.
