“One in Christ” | Ephesians 4: 1 - 16

Recap

Qualities like forgiveness, grace and humility aren’t often applauded in our world, but these are some of the very character traits which God forms in His people. Paul urges us to a walk worthy of our calling, not by giving us a list of deeds to perfect, but by describing what to expect our life in Christ to look like. It is God who forms new hearts, fits those hearts into one new body and then sends that body out on one shared mission. Our response to the gospel should match the weight of greatness of the gospel message.

References

Romans 12:1 – Because of the riches we possess, we offer our lives to God as living sacrifices.

Ezekiel 36:26 – God replaces hard, stony hearts with new tender hearts and a new spirit.

1 John 4:9-11 – God’s love was revealed when He sent Christ into the world. We love others because God first loved us.
