The God who was Crushed

As Jesus walks toward Gethsemane, the weight of redemption presses heavily upon Him. He foretells the disciples’ scattering and Peter’s denial, then enters the garden to pray in agony. Overwhelmed with sorrow, He falls to the ground and pleads with the Father, yet fully surrenders: “Not what I will, but what You will.” This moment reveals both His true humanity and His divine obedience—He embraces the crushing weight of our sin to accomplish our salvation. Betrayed by Judas Iscariot and abandoned by His friends, Jesus stands alone as the willing Lamb, resolved to drink the cup of wrath so we might drink the cup of grace.
