The Road
This week, we wrap up our Advent series as we celebrate the first arrival of Jesus and anticipate His coming second arrival. We take a look at the holy road the Jesus paves for us through this broken world and leads us to eternal life. He was the only one qualified to walk the path of perfect righteousness and took our judgement to open a way for us. We can look to Him for strength to keep on going and remember that we are set apart for a purpose.
The Name
This week, we continue our Advent series as we celebrate the first arrival of Jesus and anticipate His coming second arrival. We take a look at the three promises made of Jesus, that He would be embodied, He would earn a reputation, and be driven with a clear purpose. Like a light in a dark world, Jesus took on flesh and conquered death, showing us that fearing God leads to the end of all other fears. Through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, He earned titles and a reputation of how powerful He is but also how near He is to us. Jesus came with a clear purpose to rid the world of its' broken systems and bring about eternal restoration.
The Mountain
This week, we continue our Advent series as we celebrate the first arrival of Jesus and anticipate His coming second arrival. In our world, we are offered temporary peace and manufactured happiness that is easily disrupted by other circumstances. It's only when we recognize this bleak reality that we search for a true and lasting promise of peace. Our hope is in Jesus' redemption of the world and the exaltation of His Kingdom. Although we still live in the tension of awaiting Jesus' arrival, we can place our trust and find comfort in Him.
The Root
This week, we begin our Advent series as we celebrate the first arrival of Jesus and anticipate His coming second arrival. This week, we look at how God brings beauty from ashes. He displays judgement on the injustice to humble the wicked. It is out of this destruction that Isaiah prophesies the coming of Jesus, who would shoot up like a seedling from a stump. Unlike other rulers known for war, intimidation, and fear, Jesus establishes peace and love. He brings ultimate justice and restoration and completes God's promise of hope.
