The Inspection of the Lamb

In Mark 11:27–12:40, Jesus enters the Second Temple courts and faces a series of confrontations with religious leaders — chief priests, scribes, elders, Pharisees, Herodians, and Sadducees. Each group questions His authority, hoping to trap Him in His words and discredit Him before the people.

Yet like the Passover lamb being inspected for blemishes before sacrifice, Jesus withstands their scrutiny flawlessly. Every question reveals not His weakness, but His divine wisdom and authority. In the end, no one dares to ask Him anything more.

This passage reveals Jesus as the spotless Lamb of God, perfect and without fault, who would soon lay down His life for the sins of the world. It challenges us to recognize His authority and respond not with resistance, but with surrender and worship.
