Present in the Storm

In Mark 6:45–56, Jesus sends His disciples ahead of Him across the Sea of Galilee while He goes up on a mountain to pray. As they struggle against fierce winds and waves through the night, Jesus comes to them — walking on the water — and calms their fear with His presence. The storm does not end immediately, but their hearts are transformed as they recognize who is with them.

This passage reminds us that storms are not a sign of abandonment. Even when He feels distant, Jesus sees us, prays for us, and comes to us in our struggle. His presence brings peace long before the winds stop blowing.

This message calls us to trust that Jesus is present in our storms, to take courage in His nearness, and to let faith rise above fear as we continue rowing in obedience.
